KwaMaqoma, November 14, 2023 — In a groundbreaking collaboration, the Raymond Mhlaba Municipality, Eastern Cape Liquor Board (ECLB), and Eastern Cape Gambling Board (ECG) orchestrated a pivotal public engagement session for local liquor traders at the Fort Beaufort Town Hall.
Led by RMM Community Services Director, Ms Nomha Speelman, and Law Enforcement Manager, Mr Siyabulela Qunta, the session aimed to equip local liquor traders with essential knowledge for lawful business operations. Mr Phumlani Tyali, Head of Licensing at ECLB, delivered insights into licensing processes, taxation certificates, and registration legislations.
The Eastern Cape Gambling Board investigators, Mr Luntu Ndiki and Mr Fezile Njikwa, outlined licenses, business requirements, responsible gambling, and illegal gambling pitfalls. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A, ensuring local liquor traders left with a comprehensive understanding of regulatory and legislative policies.
