East London is set to host the 9th Afrika Unite Cultural International Festival at Buffalo City Stadium on Saturday, 21 September as part of Heritage Month celebrations.
Speaking to the media, event organiser Luzuko Khohli said “AUCIF is more than just a music festival. It’s a celebration of our African heritage and a platform for fostering unity and understanding amongst African’s. We’re proud to contribute to the cultural and creative industries of the province.”
He continued to applaud the event’s “immense growth over the years” and said that the event brings people from different backgrounds “together and transforms lives through its unique employment opportunities.
Featuring a stellar lineup of South African artists, including Ami Faku, Nkosazana Daughter, Lwah Ndlunkulu, Mr Thela, Jaziel Brothers, Dumza Maswana, MXO, Ikhona, Yamke, Luckeez Mfowethu, Volo Da Saint, Dj Cue, and Blackman and more, AUCIF will deliver an unforgettable experience for music lovers of all ages. The festival aims to create a platform for social cohesion and diplomacy among African nations while showcasing the rich cultural diversity of the continent.

Speaking to one of the performers, Dumza Maswana, he said about his upcoming performance “I am used at performing at indoor events and rarely do I get to be outside, the atmosphere is always exhilarating and energetic. To be honest, I cannot wait to perform for an outdoor East London audience at the Africa Unite music festival”
On behalf of Jaziel Brothers, Ntobeko Ngcizela said he could not wait to perform in front of the “vibrant and energetic” East London crowd.
“The East London audience is a pleasant crowd; I always enjoy entertaining them and they are a vibrant and active audience. This time around, I will be performing at an event that seeks to unite us as Africans, it means a lot to us as Jaziel Brothers that we get to use our craft to call for African unity.” Said Ngcizela.
