
Hillside Sports Grounds – The Dangerous Darkies were crowned champions of the Sive Kiswa Foundation’s Easter tournament after a heart-stopping penalty shootout victory over Sexy Birds yesterday.
In a fiercely contested final, neither side could break the deadlock in regulation time, despite both teams being reduced to ten men late in the second half. The match went into extra time, but with the scoreline still locked at 0-0, the title was decided from the spot.
The Darkies held their nerve, triumphing in the shootout to lift the trophy for the second time, sparking wild celebrations among players and supporters.
Raymond Mhlaba Municipality Mayor Nomhle Sango hailed the tournament as a triumph for youth development and community spirit.

“Sport teaches discipline and teamwork,” Mayor Sango said. “We urge young people to take part in such activities, and as the municipality, we pledge our support to ensure this tournament grows even bigger next year.”
She praised the Sive Kiswa Foundation for its role in uniting the community through sport. “We appreciate what you’re doing for our youth and the broader community. These are the initiatives that keep our youngsters focused and away from social ills.”
