Services Provided

Services will be rendered strictly as per the issued invoice, which may include but are not limited to: eObituary digital memorial creation, Photography, Videography, Live Streaming, Sound, LED Screens, Imiphanga Funeral Notice Broadcasts, GeoFindMe location sharing, Obituary Creator, and related media services.

Some services are fulfilled in partnership with trusted external providers. Our preparation process involves coordinating with multiple service providers to ensure seamless delivery. For this reason, adequate preparation time is essential — our timelines are not arbitrary, but are in place to ensure the highest standard of service.

Service Terms

Delivery Timelines

Photography: Delivered within 3 days after the event
Videography: Delivered within 14 days after the event

Service Duration

Each on-site service covers up to 6 hours
Any additional time will attract an extra charge

Live Streaming

Live streaming is dependent on available network strength
In the event of network failure, OurNews will rebroadcast the service online as soon as reasonably possible

Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

Provide reliable electricity within 10 metres of the media setup
Ensure venue access and required permissions
Provide meals and drinks for OurNews staff during the event
Guarantee the safety and security of OurNews personnel and equipment
Provide clear instructions and briefings prior to the event

If a briefing is not provided, OurNews will proceed at its professional discretion.

Payment Terms

Deposit: 50% (non-refundable) required to confirm the booking
Balance: Payable 48 hours before the event
Payment Methods: EFT to OurNews FNB or Capitec Business Accounts
Late Payment: May result in cancellation and forfeiture of the deposit

Rescheduling & Cancellation

Rescheduling must be requested at least 3 days before the event (subject to availability)
Cancellation 7 or more days before the event: 50% charge
Cancellation within 7 days of the event: 100% charge
If OurNews cancels the booking, the full deposit will be refunded

General Terms

OurNews may use images and videos for marketing and promotional purposes unless the Client objects in writing
OurNews retains creative and editorial rights over all produced media
OurNews is not liable for delays caused by power failures, weather conditions, or circumstances beyond its control
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa

eObituary — Digital Memorial Terms

eObituary provides a digital memorial page for upload and hosting of obituary text, photographs, audio obituary recordings, tribute messages and service location information.
The audio obituary feature is an upload and hosting service only. OurNews does not produce, record or edit audio obituaries.
The creator of a memorial is responsible for ensuring they have the right to upload all content, including photographs and audio files.
OurNews may host content for the duration of the active memorial. Storage terms and retention periods will be specified separately.
Printed programmes are generated automatically from memorial content. OurNews does not guarantee the accuracy of generated documents — the creator is responsible for reviewing content before printing.
OurNews reserves the right to remove content that violates our policies or applicable law.

Imiphanga — Funeral Notice Broadcast Terms

Service launching soon — these terms apply upon launch.

Upon launch, Imiphanga will broadcast funeral notices on the OurNews YouTube and Facebook channels on a scheduled weekly basis.
Broadcast scheduling is subject to submission deadlines and slot availability. OurNews will confirm scheduling within the timeframe indicated at the time of submission.
Payment is required before broadcast. Submission does not guarantee a broadcast slot until payment is confirmed.
The submitter is responsible for the accuracy of all information provided. OurNews will broadcast the notice as submitted.
OurNews reserves the right to decline a submission that does not meet our content standards.
No refund is issued once a broadcast has been scheduled and delivered.

Gift Purchases

Gift purchases allow a purchaser to pay for an eObituary memorial (or, upon Imiphanga launch, an Imiphanga notice) on behalf of a recipient family.
Gifts are valid for 90 days from the date of purchase. Unused gifts expire after this period.
Gifts are non-transferable and non-refundable once the purchase has been completed.
Payment is processed by Yoco. OurNews does not store card details.
The recipient will receive an invitation email to the email address provided by the purchaser at the time of purchase.

OurNews Partner Programme

The OurNews Partner Programme is open to registered funeral parlours and funeral professionals who wish to offer OurNews digital products to the families they serve.
Membership in the programme is by application and approval only. OurNews reserves the right to decline or withdraw membership at its discretion.
Partner pricing is non-exclusive and may be revised by OurNews with reasonable notice.
Partners are not agents or representatives of OurNews. They may not make commitments on behalf of OurNews.
Partners remain responsible for their own client relationships and for communicating OurNews product limitations accurately.
OurNews may terminate a partner relationship for breach of these terms or conduct that reflects negatively on the OurNews brand.

Agreement Confirmation

By replying “I AGREE” or by paying the deposit, the Client confirms full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
